HeliCam has added Drone Lighting to Our List of Provided Services
We currently have two systems ready to deploy; A 9 chip LED array in a stabilized gimbal that is rated at 900 watts or 142,000 lumens and a 6 chip LED array in a stabilized gimbal that is rated at 600 watts or 83,000 lumens. The 9 chip LED array is the one we used in the original Venom movie for the crash scene. The first 5 minutes of the movie.
UAV (Drone) Specs
Freefly Alta 8 Octocopter which has a 20 pound payload capacity.
Our custom built Octocopters have a 5.5' to 6.5' diameter.
Flying weight can be anywhere from 20 to 43 pounds depending on camera mount and camera used.
Max operating altitude is 400' AGL (Above Ground Level) per the FAA.
All of our equipment is electric powered via Lipo batteries.
All of our machines have been approved for commercial use by the FAA.

Camera Mount Specs
We own several gimbals that we use for various applications.
Our primary Drone gimbal for our heavy lift drones is a Freefly Systems Movi Pro. More info here.
We have two Movi M5 gimbals.
We have a DJI Ronin that we use for drone lighting stuff.
Cameras
We have flown the Alexa Mini, Mini LF and several different flavors of Red Epics over the years. We have also flown Canon's C300 Mark ii and a couple of Black Magic’s cameras. We currently own a Canon R5C and the Panasonic AU-EVA1. As many of you know these are very capable cameras. The Canon R5C shoots and records 8K RAW at up to 60P in camera. More info here. For our ground based photography and video work with the Canon R5C we own the following Canon Lenses:
Canon RF 100mm f2.8 L Macro IS USM
Canon RF 15-35mm f2.8 L IS USM
We also have one of the new Canon RF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM Z lenses on order.
For VR cameras we have flown the Nokia Ozo VR camera along with the Insta 360 camera. The Insta 360 was installed below the Movi Pro so that it would be stabilized. We used this setup at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas for an Airbus Helicopter shoot that won an Emmy.
Downlink System
New for 2024 we have switched to the incredible DJI Transmisson for our video downlink system needs. More info here. Production can pull a feed out of our monitor or we can provide a SmallHD 702 Bright monitor for Production so that they can see everything as it is happening live.
HeliCam's Truck and Lipo Battery Charging Station
We use a 2020 F250 long bed truck has a Honda 2200 Companion inverter in the bed that allows us to keep our Lipo batteries charging at high charge rates even when we are traveling from location to location on a tight shoot schedule.
